2 Stupid Questions--1 is TMI, 2 is shower related
#1) I can't believe I'm asking this...
but I remember girls saying when they go into the hospital, getting an enema so there's less of a chance to poo on the table when delivering--is this true? Do you have to ask for one, or will they ask you? Is it kinda "routine"--so insurance covers it, or will it be extra and costly?
#2)
My shower invitations were recently sent out, and I put a little thing in there about bringing a book instead of a card...
so, am I supposed to put up something where the books go into at the shower? Like a little handmade well?  Or do people just put it with their gift? I am so confused!

I was asked about the enema when i first arrived andI declined it. I didnt go on the table and I was willing to take my chances. I wouldnt worry about if its covered under insurance or not.
The books- my sil had a little basket that people put the books in..

No idea abou the enema.
I was just researching wishing wells for books and they had some really cute ideas like wicker laundry baskets with lids or just small laundry baskets oh and toy chests. Good wishing wells baby showers and see what you get.

1. I have no idea.
2. For my nephews showers, we did books instead of cards. The books were attached to the gifts with messages written inside them, as these were how we were able to tell who gave what gift.
So if you are doing a book wishing well you will need something to put it in. If the book replaces the cards, they should be kept with the gifts.

1. Had two kids already and never heard of this. I pooped while having DS#2 and you know what........so much is going on - it's a none issue. They changed the dressing under me asap and kept on trying to get that baby out.
2. I wish we did the book thing for myself. My friends did that and I love it. They have such a great collection and most have special messages in it. I had a wishing well and you get a lot of chatchky stuff.

ok, so for question #2, since the poem in the invitation said BOOKS INSTEAD OF CARDS, there is no need to set up a wishing well then right? Cause that's how I would see what gift is from who....
and then I can just pile up the books as I open gifts, or put them in a basket then?

1. No one ever asked me. And a lot of people poo on the table, and I will totally TMI and tell you I had no idea that I did, its normal.
2. At my shower, guests were asked to bring books and my mom had them put them into a nice basket.

We did the book instead of card thing too and I figure the books are going to be attached to the gifts so you know who they're from.
As for #1, I didn't have one with my DD and wasn't even asked about it. honestly, i wouldn't worry too much about it. If they give it to you it's part of your routine maternity care in the hospital and should not cost much more. Me personally I would rather take my chances on the table than be living in the bathroom hours before giving birth.

2 I hope people tag there gifts anyway.. I put the book instead of a card but i probably shoudn't have.. I just went to my friends shower and they taged there gifts anyway.. I hope mine do the same..
