2 weeks old and umbilical cord fell off today
Melia's umbilical cord fell off today.
Do I save it? throw it away?
there's still a tiny nub left of it in her belly button.

I threw my DD's away, it skeeved me out.
The little nub left is fine, DO NOT try to pull it off or anything. Did your ped. say when she would check it out?
My ped. wanted me cleaning it with alchol 2X a day.

We threw it out. Our ped told us to just wipe any discharge away with a soft cloth and not to use alcohol.

DS's fell off in the doctor's office and I wouldn't even look at it.. I made the doctor throw it away.
Too gross for me.

I tossed them. All it took was seeing my older's sister's in a baby book for me to confirm that was the right decision.
I have baby teeth but I'm not even so sure I should be saving those. If it falls off your body, it really should be garbage.

Kept. Its traditional. Along with a lock of her hair. My father has her 'box'. It will be kept until he dies then it comes to me. He be cremated with mine and my brother's.

ped told us not to do anything to it.
so far no ooze or anything, so i'm not touching it...
i put what fell off an a ziplock bag.

Same, I got quesy everytime I tried to clean around it. It took alot to keep from puking all over DS when I had to pick it up and throw it away when it fell off.

i threw it away. I found it on the floor in the nursery. i have no idea how it got there, but there it was.
my coworker still has her sons and they're teenagers now..LOL.
