Re: 2012 Yearly Goal! Post What You Have Read

I have no idea how many books I can read in a year, but I like this thread for keeping track and getting ideas! Since I got my Kindle I've been reading a lot more.

1) The Art of Racing in the Rain - Garth Stein (looooved it)
2) The Dogs Who Found Me - Ken Foster (about fostering...good read)
3) The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes - Diane Chamberlain (was just OK)
4) A Dog's Purpose - W. Bruce Cameron (OMG - tearjerker but GREAT book)
5) Chike and the River - Chinua Achebe (quick read, fable type story)
6) Shanghai Girls - Lisa See (slow but liked it)
7) Hunger Games 1 - Suzanne Collins (loved it - shocker - and now want to read the rest of the series!)
8) I'm Not the Biggest B*itch in This Relationship - Wade Rouse (collection of essays by famous writers about their relationships with their dogs - very funny and light read)
9) Dirty Little Secrets from Otherwise Perfect Moms - Trisha Ashworth (super short/quick read - glad I rented it - funny)
10) How to Build a Fire (and other handy things your grandfather knew) - Erin Bried (didn't finish Chat Icon )
11) Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins - (I like the premise of Quarter Quell)
12) Mockingjay (still think 1st book was best but all were good!)
13) Super Sad true Love Story (quirky, sarcastic, a bit futuristic)
14) 50 Shades of Gray (no comment - will not be reading the others!)
15) Happiest Baby on the Block - Harvey Karp (easy read - hope it helps when DS arrives!)
16) Defending Jacob (gripping but didn't love the ending)
17) Snow Flower & the Secret Fan - Lisa See (great story)
18) Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close - Jonathan Safran Foer
19) Bumped - Megan McCafferty (bizarre but funny)
20) Vicar's Daughters to Viscount's Lady - Louise Allen (eh)
21) Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn (liked a lot)
22) Waiter Rant - Steve Dublanica

Re: 2012 Yearly Goal! Post What You Have Read

I'm getting a realy late start, as I just started reading again a few weeks ago after barely picking up a book in almost 2 years Chat Icon

I've never set a goal for reading before, so I guess I'll start with 30. I have DC#2 due at tue end of August so I will have to fit most of them in before then.

1. Heart of the Matter - Emily Giffin - wasn't great
2. Room - loved it!
3. The Hunger Games - couldn't put down any of the books in the trilogy
4. Catching Fire
5. Mockingjay
6. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (just started)
