24 hour urine test & work
I have to do the 24 hour urine test. I am debating between taking Friday off or going to work on Friday with my giant pee jug.
However, I work in the city and this would require me to take the LIRR and the subway (to 125th st) with my pee jug both ways!
Also, it has to be kept in the fridge, right?? I am worried that it will get too warm or something during travel and my hard work will be ruined!!!!
I just hate to take a day when I am feeling fine, I like to use them when I'm not feeling well.... I used one this month already for swollen feet and legs!
What did you do/would you do???

I can't because the lab isn't open early enough for me. I am on the train by 6:15 am... I start work at 8 am.....

I'd take the day off. the 24 pee test is a total hassle! Not only do you need to collect the urine in this large jug (that is sooo heavy after a while) and must stay cold....you need to use this basin to collect it. Doing all of this at work would be sooo much harder. You'd need to bring all these things with you into the bathroom (so embarassing), and actually pee in the basin...then pour into the jug...the put the jug in the fridge. Its soooo much easier to do this in the comfort of your own home. My OB told me on a Thursday that I needed to take the test, but after talking to her some more about bringing it to work Friday or postponing it to the weekend, she Okayed me to do it on the weekend and I am totally glad I did. I cant even imagine doing all of that at work.

I would take a day off Friday or go in late Monday morning. You definitely do not want to do this at work - it really in a pain in the butt!!! Good luck!!

Definitely take the day. It's a real pain in the ass and the jug has to stay cold. You'll be much more comfortable doing it at home.

i took the day but I used a red solo cup and just kept filling the jug that I had in the fridge.

I would just do it on Sunday and take an hour or 2 of personal time Monday morning, instead of using the whole day.

I lugged it to work - mine didn't have to go in the fridge, it was a PITA to carry still.....
I'd take partial day monday
