Finally took DS for his blood work (lead test)
OMGoodness, that had to be the hardest thing. I am such a sap, I left there with tears in my eyes. I can handle shots at the Dr. office, but, this just got me.
We have had the prescription since Jan. and I have been to chicken to go. We Finally went today. DH held him and I just looked on.
They technicians were great, however, Bryan moved and they lost his vein.
They had to get more blood, so, the poor kid got poked in both arms.
I feel like a ton of bricks has been lifted now that it's done.
I now  that the test comes back OK.

I have put this off for 3 months for the reasons you stated. I am so scared of how he will react when he is sitting there while they are jabbing him all over with a needle. My pediatrician is going to kill us when we show up for his 18 months visit without having it done!

I'm a sap. LOL. I have gotten a lot better at the Dr. office for shots, but, I made sure DH was with me today. If he couldn't go, I would have brought my mom or someone.
It would have been over a lot quicker if Bryan didn't move, but, he did.
Go get it done. I'm telling you, it's a big load off your mind when it's over with. When we were driving there, I was kicking myself for not doing this back in Jan.
The thing that really made me say OK..today is THE day, is, Bryan's 15 month checkup is next weekend and I didn't want the ped. to say anything..It was kind of a motivator.

The one year blood work was the WORST!!! And my doctor does the finger prick and squeeze and I was crying with her.

Alex had blood drawn at her 9 month apt. Does that mean they do it again at a year?
They pricked her finger and squeezed it - she cried just because she couldn't squirm away I think.
We got the results before we even left the examining room...

I could have written that myself. We had our prescription since Jan too and only went this past Tuesday. Only I must be an even bigger chicken, I made my DH take her since I knew I wouldn't be able to handle seeing her like that. I'm such a bad mommy.
Hope the results come back ok!

 I am dreading this. We just got the script last week and I was going to bring him today to get it over with but he has a cold.
