Re: 26 month old with high fever
my dr told me go more based on her actions then temp...if she is lethargic, having trouble breathing, etc, bring her right in...but if she is not showing those symptoms, then just monitor.
Has she ever had roseola? My 2 oldest had high fevers, and turned out to be roseola

Re: 26 month old with high fever
I would bring her to the ped, esp over 104. You want to rule out ear infection, etc.

I would bring to the ped. You also want to make sure she doesn't have a UTI or bladder infection.

Re: 26 month old with high fever
I would give her Tylenol and check her temp again in 3 hours from the Motrin dose. My DD had a 105.6 2 weeks ago in the evening. I called the ped service and was told to take her to PM Pediatrics if she was lethargic and "looked sick." I gave her Motrin and we went. At PM Peds she had 102.4 but her ears and lungs were clear. Just a fever virus. They gave her Tylenol while we were there and I took her home. I put her to bed and checked her thru the night. The fever virus lasted a few days and then she was good as new. Hope your DD feels better soon.

Re: 26 month old with high fever
I would bring her in and not wait until she has trouble breathing or gets higher. Better to be safe!
