2nd Birthday Party for DD...but DS due 3 days later!

Not sure what to do about DD's 2nd birthday party. her birthday is May 26th but i'm due with DS on May 29th. I don't want to do nothing, but not sure what and when to do it. What if i go early and have a 1 or 2 week ok for her party, or what if i'm about to give birth any day or what if i do give birth on her birthday.

Any suggestions?

I'd do an earlier bday party, but probably something small. Maybe just family over for a BBQ and cake or going to a cute and fun restaurant

For DS 2nd bday we had a pool party at our house w/ lots of friends, kids and family. I was due 5 or 6 weeks later and I was totally exhausted. I can't imagine throwing a party a week b4 my DD.
He didn't even know what was going on and could've done something small.

I just remember that whole weekend my feet were killing me from standing and walking so much up and down the deck steps.

This situation is tough no matter what. I was due with DD#2 a week before DD#1’s third birthday. We always do a party at home for her b-day (summer b-day so a big backyard party). Her b-day is on 6/28 and I was due 6/21. I made her party on 7/3, hoping that I would maybe go early (or at least on time) with having the baby and would be definitely home a few days or a week before the party. Even though DD#1 was a week overdue I just wasn’t planning on #2 being late for some reason.

Long story short, DD#2 was a week overdue when I went into labor & delivered her on DD#1’s actual third birthday, so baby & I came home on Wednesday and the party was Saturday. I won’t lie, I was exhausted, but I had a lot of help from my mom & MIL so it made it much easier. What was nice was that lots of people got to meet the baby at the party that would have had to schlep out to the house to see her at different times had she not been born before the party.

In hindsight, I could have missed the party if I hadn’t gone into labor naturally and they scheduled me for an induction on say Tuesday or Wednesday…but thankfully it all worked out.

My advice would be to have the party 2 weeks after your due date if you will have help with the party…doing it before (but close) to the due date was too risky for me (though it would have worked out for me since I ended up being a week late, but you never know!)

DS#1's birthday is March 21 and DS#2 was due March 28. I ended up having the birthday party 2.5 weeks early. Worked out very well.
