2nd birthday party timing
I'm trying to plan Marron's birthday party. Her actual b-day is 4/23. I want to have the party in my backyard. I'm also trying to plan it for when my brother has his kids for the weekend.
Looking at the Farmer's Almanac, they aren't predicting very good weather for the weekend of the 20th. Then May 4th, my brother already has another obligation. So the next date would be May 18th. This date would also work well for my MIL coming from upstate (my niece's party is 5/17 so MIL would only have to come once for 2 parties).
My question is whether 5/18 is too long after her actual birthday to have the party. Is it odd? I know she won't know, but for everybody else -- will they think it is strange?

Re: 2nd birthday party timing
I think it is fine. This year we are doing a week earlier and I am not thrilled with that idea but it was the only weekend we could do it in April. Next year I plan on doing it the first weekend in May so it can be outside and I don't have to limit how many people I have because of indoor space. A friend of mine is having her DD's party May 3rd and her real b-day is April 8th.
