a big fancy party?
DD will be turning 2 soon and I think we are just going to have some family and few friends over (and kids) Hopefully we'll be in our new coop by then and we can do it there. There is just no way we can do anything more (bigger ,fancier) this year.

We did a "big" 1st birthday and I needed a break for the 2nd birthday. We did it at home with about 45 people...it was a bit crowded but worked out. DS's birthday is in April so the weather is iffy. If his birthday was during the summer or nicer weather his parties would always be at home.

We did a big "1st Birthday" party. We have a nice, new and big backyard so we'll be hosting my son's 2nd birthday party there this year.

We are actually doing two parties. One will be a BBQ for the immediate family i.e. grandparents, great-grandma, and uncles. The other is an 11 kid party at a gym type place for pizza and cake. I am keeping both of the parties small. We spent almost 900 last year. This year I think we will be at 400.

For DD's 2nd b-day we just did a family/friends BBQ at our house and we hung out with some very special friends at the beach the day before

The 1st we went all out!!! We had cotton candy machine, elmo perform, face painting, the whole BIG first birthday thing. This year we are doing white post farms and then a small dinner on his actually fay for immediate fam. Not going wild this year. Good luck

We just had a small family party at home (with a few very close friends) Just that was close to 35 people so it was enough for me.

I figure when he goes to school I will have plenty of time for bigger/fancy parties!

We had a bbq. Ended up to be about 30-40 people including kids but we didn't go crazy. Bbq food and a hero. Same thing for this year, just more people.

DD's first b-day party was on the bigger side (not huge though), but for her 2nd we did a BBQ in the backyard for immediate family (siblings) and close friends...it was 25 adults and 7 kids.

for dd we had it at kangaroo kids but thats bc i was worried about the weather not being nice and my house wasnt done yet where i felt comfortable having lots of people insire incase it rained..most likely next year for her 3rd we will do it in the backyard.

im planning to do a big first bday then a small 2nd bday. just immediate fam, then when he starts school i will just invite his class.

We live OOS from most of our family but will be visiting DH's family right before DD's birthday.

We are going to have a small party with that side of the family while we are up there and my mom and a close cousin are coming up.

I was thinking have having a kids party when we get back, but we decided not to. We'll just do something special on her actual birthday.

We had a family GTG at Disney on Ice then had a small family/friend party at home.

We had the big 1st bday and then for the second we had a kids pirate themed party at the house. We also took our families out to dinner on his actual bday.

We dont have a great yard or a big enough place so we had ours at a Park but not too many people. About 20 ish and it was GREAT. Small enough for me to talk to everyone and not go nuts planning and preparing. I was happy with what I did.

I PLANNED a small family party with a few friends.

It turned into 116 people.

But we had a blast.

DD's birthday is in January which limits my options... we'll probably do a small Gymboree type party for the kids and just have family over the house for cake.

We did a backyard BBQ. It wasn't exactly "small" because DH has a large family, but we definitely saved a lot of money by doing this.
