3 months old...any schedule changes?

As per baby center web site, DS should be sleeping 10 hrs at night. I actually think it's doable but know that this will impact his feeding schedule. Did you have DC sleep longer during the night (particularly for moms whose DC STTN)? If so, how did you do the feedings? Did they get more per bottle while eliminating a bottle? DS has been sleeping for 8 hours every night since he was 7 weeks old. I usually have to wake him in the morning. DS currently takes approx 6oz of formula per feeding and is over 15 pounds and is 24 inches. Anyone have a chart that says how much formula for this age?

ETA: This is our schedule (if it helps)

6:30am wake up 1st bottle 6oz
9:30 6oz bottle
12:30 6 oz bottle
3:30 6 oz bottle
6:30 6 oz bottle
9:30 6 oz bottle
10:30 bedtime

Re: 3 months old...any schedule changes?

DD just turned 3 months and we weighed her at 12 lbs 3 ounces and 24 inches.

She has been sleeping threw the night though, 8-10 hours, so we dropped that feeding in the middle of the night.

She is only drinking 5 ounces at every feeding. Sometimes a little more and sometimes less. She is a very happy baby though, and naps well and sleeps well. She is constantly in the calm alert state.

I dont know how much she should be eating. I would love to see a chart for this age!

Bedtime is between 7:30-8:30 pm. Sleeps till 5-6 on average. I feed her when she wakes, and from then on she eats on average every three hours at daycare. Last feeding of the night I nurse her, so not sure how much she gets.

Our schedule is:
5:00-6:00am 4-5 oz.
9am 5oz BM
12pm 5 oz BM
3pm 5oz Formula
6pm 5 oz Formula
8:30pm nurse or 4 oz Formula

Re: 3 months old...any schedule changes?

What a great schedule and he seems to be an excellent eater! I read the rule of thumb for oz. is 2.5 oz. x their body weight. So 2.5 x 15= 37.5 (and as per your schedule he is getting 42). If he's still very hungry, your PED might start him on cereal this month or next- I would ask at your next apt. DD eats a lot less than this (she's 4.5 months/ in 50% for weight) and sleeps about 8/9 clip then back to sleep for another 5 hours or so. I think it is normal for them to still wake up to eat before 5 months. Your PED can tell you when to start weaning them from night feedings. We have gotten 10, 11, 13 hours straight, but it's not consistent.

Our schedule is:
7:30am 2-4 oz.
11am 4oz
1pm 4 oz
4pm 4oz
6pm 6 oz
3am 4 oz
* sometimes there is an extra feeding in there. DD is a bit of a fussy eater and I am a SAHM so sometimes I still cluster feed (give smaller feeds throughout the day) to get her to eat as much as I can.

Re: 3 months old...any schedule changes?

As you know both STTN, since #2 is more recent I can say by 3months she had her last bottle at 8pm and we had to wake her in the morning - LOL, often she'd sleep past 9am. Her schedule was different b/c of her reflux though, she had a 6-6.5 oz bottle every 4 hours, equaling over 25 ounces a day - we tried to keep her around the 24-25 mark. With #1 who also STTN by 2 months old, I can tell you she ate every 3 hours/5 feedings a day her schedule was something like this for the most part (can't remember the exact age, but it was like this for a while):

8am - 6.5 oz
11am- 6.5 oz
2pm- 6.5 oz
5pm - 6.5 oz
8 pm - 6.5 oz

ETA: I have the similac schedule on my fridge, you may still be able to get it from their website. It may not be the formula you use, but it's a feeding guide.
