3D Sono and question on Maternit21 Gender Accuracy
So DD didn't cooperate at 16 or 20 weeks. If it wasn't for Maternit21 I would have no ideation a girl. But stupid me and using Google, I started finding all these posts about false results with Maternit21.
So now DH and I who are about to paint the walls of a room pink and buy a bright pink rug are thinking maybe we should try another Sono to confirm, if she cooperates.
So two parts:
1) did you do a 3D Sono? Where? Was it worth it? Did you get the gender? What happens if DD still doesn't cooperate?
2) how likely is it the Maternity21 is wrong? Anyone ever had a false gender result or know someone who has?

I am in a similar situating as you! Maternity 21 said girl and at my 20 week sono she didn't cooperate. So if it weren't for the blood work I wouldn't know. I hope it's accurate! We've been planning on a girl since we found out!

Sonographers can be wrong. I would trust maternit21 more than the sono.
Did you see something about gender being wrong from maternit21? I never looked it up, but would guess it's almost impossible for them to get the gender wrong.

Re: 3D Sono and question on Maternit21 Gender Accuracy
Never, ever heard of materniti21 being wrong regarding gender. They test the DNA. The only way it can give confusing results is if there are multiples, but I'm pretty sure they won't even do the test if you have multiples.

3D Sono and question on Maternit21 Gender Accuracy
There's tons of posts about it being wrong on other sites. Especially when they predict girl. Or it seems if you had a child already or you had a miscarriage recently. I got pregnancy the cycle before from IVF but it didn't been last a month, so I'm not sure if that counts.
But I'm not sure what the percentage actually is. Or if the people with errors are just very vocal.

Re: 3D Sono and question on Maternit21 Gender Accuracy
The test is 99% accurate, so I would say you're having a girl, and not really question it. As another poster said, they look at the chromosomes, so they either see an XX or an XY. Hard to misread DNA!
You can certainly go for a gender reveal sonogram, but I would say that the blood test is more accurate anyway. But it's always fun to see the baby, and if it gives you peace of mind, why not? Would you dr try again for you?

3D Sono and question on Maternit21 Gender Accuracy
Why do so many people post on sites then about it being wrong… well today's hospital visit confirmed it anyhow, so definitely a girl. DH lovingly and jokingly said I fell just so I could get confirmation.
