3m old, waking up every 3 hours (or sooner) for bottle...
DD was doing great when I was bfing.. she was just about to sleep through the night.. we were almost there. Then at 2m ckup peds told me dairy allergy, switched her to formula. Then she started waking up every 3 hours, but at night we were still kinda okay, she would wake up but then drink bottle and go right back to bed. But now its She wakes up every 3 hours, sometimes 2.5 wanting that bottle right away. Last night she only drank some not the entire bottle (both times).. which sucked to waste that formula.. then she was waking up 1/2 later, not wanting bottle, just b/c paci fell out. I had to keep my hand in PNP for her to hold, she would fall back to sleep.. then 1 hour later she woke up for bottle again.
Im running on no sleep.. I dont know what to do. Im going to call my peds today but wanted to see if anyone here had gone through similar and what did they do or what did their peds have them do.. this way if the peds says "what do you want to do" i have suggestions to toss out there.
Im on my 3rd type of bottle.. and just got formula approved by ins. I they dont say have to switch formula again..
eta: also I thought it gets easier after 3rd month with 2 under 2.. its getting harder for me.

DS is 3 months old and also still waking up every 3 to 4 hours for a bottle. I'm hoping that once I can start giving him cereal he won't be so hungry and will sleep longer.
Everyone told me the magic number for sleep was 3 months...but I'm still waiting.

my peds said well be starting cereal at 4m. I guess ill wait it out another month and hope that does the trick.. I would hate to change her formula again.. which I think my peds may say if I call them.
At least I know its normal.. my older dd was sleeping through night pretty early on, but she was bfed until 6m.. so thought maybe thats why she started so soon.

I know how you feel Chase still wakes up in the middle of the night for a bottle....for a couple of weeks, he would wake up and not even really drink the bottle, but now he sucks it down...
Quick question...how did you come to find that she had a milk allergy...it's suprising to hear that she was almost sleeping through the night even though she had the allergy and was on bm...also, what formula is she on now?

at her 2m ck up, the peds said she didnt gain enough weight (i think the nurse weighed her wrong), plus she has bad excema, peds said it was in hot spots that indicated allergy (behind knees, in elbow crease, along with other spots), also cradle cap that wouldnt go away (she said it went along with excema during allergy), then a few days later I finally got a dirty diaper to have tested and it showed blood in stool. Plus before diaper part, she had me put dd on Prosobee she had a reaction to. So btwn the Prosobee reaction and diaper, peds said that made it a Positive Dairy Allergy, all the others were just possible indications of one. Plus she was having some fussiness during feedings but only during day, not at the night feeding. She would scream with the breast in her mouth.
eta: oops sorry forgot, she son Alimentum now. Someone posted that thats still milk based.. reason Im feared all this going on may still be from Formula and need to change it again.

Yes, Chase was on Nutramigen (same as Alimentum) before he was officially diagnosed with the milk allergy, and it wasn't working. The dr said that 75% of babies respond to Nutramigen/Alimentum, and the other 25% need it more broken up, so they go to Elecare/Neocate---if your insurance covers Alimentum, I am almost positive that they will cover Elecare/Neocate

At 3m ck up the peds said to wait one more month, but this wasnt the peds I saw at 2m ck up who diagnosed dd in the first place. I just started Drop ins so hoping this does the trick.. Havent done at every feeding b/c dh watched her yesterday and he hates the drop ins so gave her Dr. browns. Told him that doesnt help if were trying to figure out if the issues are still from formula or bottle.

I'm EBFing and DS still wakes up every 3-4 hours at 5.5 months old. He has never been close to STTN.
