9 month old waking for a 3am bottle?
DD has been waking up around 3- 3:30am and screaming until I give her a bottle. She is drinking a 6oz bottle at this time. I don't understand During the day she usually eats 3 - 4 jars of stage 2 foods, 4 6oz bottles and snacks of puffs, yogurt or pieces of real fruit.
I can't believe that she could be starving at 3:30am. I don't want to start a habit of if she wakes in the middle of the night, that she gets a bottle to fall back asleep.
Anyone else experience this? It is new to me DS never did this.

DS is the same way...he is not a great sleeper by any means. We've tried weening him off of it but he'll still wake up more often than not...he'll be a year old on the 20th..
None of my older kids did this either..

DD is 8 mos. and she had started waking up at night a couple of weeks ago. I never fed her at night but I started to give her more food during the day to see if she would sleep better and lately (knock on wood) she has been sleeping again!

Re: 9 month old waking for a 3am bottle?
Clover just turned 10 months and she is still waking once or twice during the night. Sometimes, I will let her cry for a bit then she falls asleep, other times I can tell she is not gonna go back so I give her a bottle because she passes right out after drinking it. Am I creating a bad habit, who knows? Right now I am fine with it.

At this age- it's usually more for comfort than for hunger. It's up to you whether you are fine with the routine.
Once I got pg again (DD was 7,5 months old) the night waking got to be REALLY difficult- so I used the book, "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child." It's a form of CIO and sleep scheduling. It was hard the first 2 nights, but DD finally gave up the middle of the night feeding and now sleeps through the night. We did this at about 9/10 months old.

I agree, the night bottle is like a midnight snack, as long as your baby is getting the right amout of milk during the day there really is no reason for the "snack" I did the same thing, my baby would get up but I would not feed her, I would pat her back and she got the hint after a few nights. She has slept thru the night ever since.. its not easy but worth it.
