11 Months and waking for Bottle!!!

we have had such a great sleeper for a long time. Now at 11 months he is waking up anywhere between 2:30 - 4:00 for an 8 oz bottle

Is he hungry? is it habit? how do I tell the difference????Chat Icon

Re: 11 Months and waking for Bottle!!!

I'm going to guess it's a growth spurt. DD is almost 10 months and has gone through this her whole life. Great sleeper for a few weeks, then 4-5 days straight of waking to eat (but immediately going back to sleep after the bottle).

Hopefully it passes quickly Chat Icon

ETA: If it goes on for maybe more than a week, I'd begin to suspect a habit...DD went through that too.

Re: 11 Months and waking for Bottle!!!

could your child be cutting a tooth - a molar, maybe?

Ainsley is 12 months and about a month ago she went a few days waking in the middle of the night for a bottle. It was a combination of her having a cold and her getting a back tooth.

Hang in there!

Chat Icon i'm going to guess and agree with above either growth spurt or teeth but the growth spurt seems more likely since he's taking the whole bottle. I thought with teething they tend not to want to eat? Chat Icon hope it passes soon for you

My daughter is 10 months and this is happening to us too. Although, she has never been a very good sleeper! Chat Icon

I wouldn't give in...Biologically, they don't need a bottle in the middle of the night after 4 months. If you started, I would reduce the amount each night until it's gone.
