4-5 year age difference
DH and I are talking about baby #2 and keep going back and forth between spacing them out 4 or 5 years apart. Please tell me what you liked and what you didn't like about the age differences.
Thanks in advance.

Re: 4-5 year age difference
DD and DS are 4 1/2 years apart. DD is such a big help when it comes to caring for her little brother. She is always willing to help. If I am busy with him, she is old enough where she can play on her own and keep herself occupied.
But after 4 1/2 years, I forgot how tiring it can be. To go from a full night's sleep to complete lack of sleep is hard. There is also jealousy sometimes. DD was the queen of the house for almost 5 years. Sometimes, it is hard for her to understand that I can't play with her or cuddle with her because I am taking care of the baby.

4-5 year age difference
Im the younger one of a 4yr gap. LOVED it! He was my buddy. He protected me and also made fun of me. I followed him and was super envious of him. I wanted to be just like him. LOL we were very competitive and being the age diff, he pushed me to be better. I never compared myself to the kids in my class but to him. (until he left school - a different story) and since he was an A student, I think he pretty much set up my whole educational base by forcing me to learn how to study and never give up.
I'm 37 he's 41 and to this DAY we still joke that I learned how to read a clock face before him. We joke because at 41 he STILL prefers digital watches over face watches. Even though he CAN read one easily as I can, its just old habits die hard.

4-5 year age difference
We only have one DD but she's almost 3, so if we have another it will be at least a 4 yr difference. I loved my year maternity leave with her an by spacing them far apart ill be able to do that again. I love that I've had so much alone time with DD and I see how much she loves babies so when the time comes I know she'll be thrilled!

Re: 4-5 year age difference
mine are exactly 4 years apart. I originally wanted them closer but hit some bumps along the way...the funny thing is though, I'm really happy with the age difference..DS is a big help and is crazy over his little sister..its really sooo cute to watch them interact. Plus my DS can entertain himself, so it wasn't too "hard" going from one kid to two kids. I do look forward to next year when DS is in school full day, that's when i'll start doing gymboree and other activities with my little girl. But so far very happy with the age difference.
