4 month old waking during night
Hello My 4 1/2 month old was sleeping though night. Taking good naps. Goes into crib awake and falls asleep swaddled with binky. she has been sleeping in her crib since 1 week old. Started sleeping through night at 3 months. 8:30-5 or 6am. For the last few weeks she is getting up every hour or so throughout the night. we go in to give her the binky and she goes right back to sleep but wakes 1 hour later. we have tried to let her cry. it goes on for over an hour and she still wakes again. Dont know what to do. Any advice? Thanks.

No advice, but it sounds like the dreaded 4 month sleep regression! My DS is 5.5 months and I'm still going through it

Re: 4 month old waking during night
sounds like a growth spurt usually around 5 months maybe she hit it a little early may be looking for more formula

Re: 4 month old waking during night
When should I give her more formula? At night? My ped told me not to feed her during the night. I try to give her more during the day but she will only take so much.

Re: 4 month old waking during night
I personally wouldn't let my 4 month old cry. They need to be comforted. I was always told you shouldn't CIO until six months.
Also, my five month old still wakes up for 1 bottle a night and my ped told me not to stop feeding her until six months because until then she still needs it.
She could be going through a growth spurt and need the food or possibly teething.
It sounds like you have a pretty good deal already so hopefully this little snag won't last too long.

Re: 4 month old waking during night
i would give to my dd if she woke up during the just 2-4oz to top her off IDK why peds said not to though seems silly I know its ideal to get her to sleep through the night but if she is up crying anyway why not give her some then she will go back to sleep sooner i would think anyway myy dd did this around 5 months for about 7-10 days and then again about 9-10 months

Re: 4 month old waking during night
Could be a growth spurt, could be the onset of teething pain, could be anything. I know that my 5 month old goes through periods of time where he starts waking again at night and sometimes there's just no rhyme or reason, it's just what's happening. My advice is just let it go and try to go with the flow because the more you try to fix it sometimes, the worse it gets. He inevitably gets back on track every time it has happened, so I'm sure your DD will, too! Hang in there!

Re: 4 month old waking during night
we went through this from 4.5 - 5.5 months. it didnt stop until we did CIO at 5.5 (almost 6) months.
took one night and 1 hour of screaming and he has been STTN since
could she be in pain from teething?
