4 year old- Disney stroller question...
We are going to Disney on my DS's 4th b-day...My DD will be 9 months at the time so obviously we will have a stroller with us for her...
Would you-
-Bring a double stroller ? -Rent one there (if they do)? -Hope he could walk (which I doubt )?
I'm going to need to pack at least a single anyway, for the airport etc... Also if you chose double-
-bring my tandem (which the back seat reclines)
-or my double umbrella (side 2 side, no recline)?
Thanks !

Re: 4 year old- Disney stroller question...
I have a 4 year old and went in december and March and bought an inexpensive ($20) umbrella stroller. It was great since it was easy to fold and we didnt care what happened to it. Can you bring 2 single strollers?

We went to Disney when the twins were 4...we rented the stroller there. It really is a lot of walking...It was a tremendous help and cut down on the complaining.

Re: 4 year old- Disney stroller question...
I'm going in September and bringing a double stroller. I actually just bought a City Mini Double since my Joovy wasn't cutting it anymore as a double stroller. We also have other vacations planned. My 4 year old usually walks most of the time and I use a single Maclaren for my 2 year old. But Disney is alot of walking for me so I don't expect him to be able to walk all of it.
I prefer to have my own stroller so I didn't give renting much of a consideration. Plus is now cost $31 a day for a double. You can also rent strollers from an outside company.

You will definitely need a stroller. We went last year with my 5 year old nephew and my friends 4 year old son and we rented a double and they used it. The rentals are a little pricey I would probably look at buying a Maclaren Volo or something similar from ebay for under $60.

Re: 4 year old- Disney stroller question...
I brought my double for my 21 month old twins and we rented a single for my almost 5yo DD. She sat in it alot more than I thought but there was alot of walking so it was worth it. When we were in the magic kingdom in Fantasy Land we parked my Philamagic since it was actually loser than parking right by Its a small world and peter pan

Re: 4 year old- Disney stroller question...
The cost of the stroller at Disney has gone up and it is insane how much they charge you. I think it was 35 a day. We took 2 single strollers the last 3 years we went. We also bought these clips to hold them together but never used them. This year they will be 4 and we will be bringing umbrella strollers so they can walk and use them when they get tired.

Re: 4 year old- Disney stroller question...
We took DD when she was just turning 5. I knew she was going to fizzle out at some point, but she was just too big for a normal umbrella stroller. I actually bought a Macleran, yes it was expensive, but it was perfect. She did end up falling asleep a couple of times and the strollers they had there just did not look comfy at all.

Re: 4 year old- Disney stroller question...
I rented a double when I went for the boys. They were juts over 3.5yrs and 14 mos. I brought my single stroller for the baby for the airport and stuff but just rented a double at the parks (we only went for 3 park days).
The only double I have is the sit and stand and didn't want to lug that plus not comfy for him there all day. I have two unbrellas but couldn't imagine pushing two around all the time there. Esp if you have to chase down a kid and navigating thru crowds with the stroller. I much prefer one parent to push the stroller and the other to have hands free, chase, take to the bathroom, get food, etc.
The rented ones were the way to go for us. Worked perfectly for us. (I thought maybe he wouldn't need one down there so I was planning to play it by ear but he was in it more than my 14 mo old.)
