Disney with a 3 year old
Those who have gone to disney with a 3 year old, what did you do regarding a stroller? My DD will be 3 1/2 when we go but has not sat in a stroller in over a year. I know it is a lot of walking and she will get tired but I just can't picture her sitting in a stroller.
My DS will be 18 months at the time and I have a compact stroller for him. Do I just buy another light weight stroller for her. I hate to spend money on a stroller she will never use again.
Any suggestions?

Re: Disney with a 3 year old
We are going in 2 weeks! My niece is 3, my nephew is almost 2, and DS will be 6 months. As far as I know my sister is not bringing a stroller for the 3 year old. I'll let you know how it goes!

Melissa, You can borrow my sit and stand if you want and this way your daughter can sit when she wants and hop in and out. Just let me know.

Re: Disney with a 3 year old
Bella was 3 when we went to Disney in September and we took our Maclaren...and we definitely needed it.
However, my strange child LOVES the stroller.
It's a great age, Bella had an AMAZING time.

Re: Disney with a 3 year old
I think you need to have an option for a 3.5 year old. Its just way too much walking. When we go we are bringing our own single stroller and then renting a second one from http://www.orlandocribrental.com/ who is bringing us a crib too. Grandma and Grandpa are coming along with us, so I imagine the kids will be split up frequently. If it was just me and hubby I would have brought a double stroller. While she isn't in the stroller you can use it to store all the drinks, snacks, diapers etc that you'll be carrying around.

Re: Disney with a 3 year old
There is no doubt in my mind I would bring a stroller for a 3 yr old. I am bringing my double for my 3 (Emma will walk 98% of the time but even at 6 she gets tired). Do you have an umbrella for the 3 yr old? A cheapo umbrella would probably do the trick. You can get one for about $20 at BRU. We are going in 2 months. Although it isn't the rainy season I would HIGHLY reccommend you getting a rain cover for the strollers. We were there last Sept and got caught in the most horrific rainstorm the night of Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party. If I didn't have a rain cover the kids would have been soaked and being 1 1/2 yrs later I think the stroller would still have been wet
ETA: I saw the poster above is going to rent a stroller. While I think it's a great idea in theory, what happens if the stroller gets stollen, rare yes but it does happen. You have to pay for the stroller to be replaced correct. Not worth worrying about IMO.

Re: Disney with a 3 year old
You could rent a double from the parks...pricey but might be worth it! After lugging my darn stroller, 2 kids and bags onto the bus and struggling each day, I'm a little bias now Of course you will have your DH to help though.

Yes, we would be responsible for the replacement cost of the stroller if it was stolen. I'll take that slight risk in favor of a much more comfortable ride for baby and easier to push for mommy. (And not having to deal with it in the airport!)
