At some point, how you got there no longer matters, it's what you do to get out that does. She is at that point.

I agree - a lot of people have sh!tty parents and find a way to pull it together.
I do hope she finds her way out -- it's sad to see anyone spiral downward like this.

I do blame both parents. I think they put thier own greed and desire for fame before their daughter's well being. I mean, look at what they are doing to Ali- her mom is taking her to clubs, and she is 15!!!
I think she became addicted to drugs young. But everytime there an issue- her parents go to the press. They put their own desire for fame before thier daughter's well being. At 23 years old, and clearly addicted to drugs- that girl needs a firm hand and parents who aren't in her pocket.
its a real shame. I thought that girl had talent.

I blame them for the state that she is in now. They should have acted like parents and intervened when they first noticed probelms. I do not believe that these 2 did not because they seem to be more concerned with fame than their daughter.
If they would have tried to help her when she started spiraling then maybe she would not be the way she is now.
I think it is a combo of thier fault and her fault.

While the parents are complete wack jobs, no I don't blame them for "current" Lindsay.
Lots of kids pull through.
The main reason I say that is that she was not always this way. Only as an adult is she taking a turn for the worst.
I do blame them for the lack of supervision and discipline not imposed on her when she was younger. Allowing her to drink, do drugs, etc...
But in the end, SHE is the one that was driving drunk and doing drugs. Nobody else!!!! At some point, you have to take responsibility for your own mistake.
Look at Drew Barrimore. She did drug and alchohol at 9 because of lack of parenting. She got a grip on herself after rehab at 15.

I think the majority of the blame lies on Lindsay. She is an adult. She is making these decisions. She is the only one who can ultimately turn her life around. However, I do think that her parents are more interested in their own fame and what their daughter "brings" them then the actual woman who is wasting away.

she's an adult now.....i think the only one who can save her is herself....
lots of people have crappy parents and don't end up addicted to drugs...a lot of people end up famous and don't end up addicted to drugs....
i think there is only so much blame you can place on parents - people have their own free will and make their own choices and life path...
do i think they could have done a better job? sure...do i think she still would have taken this path - probably...
