I am so sick so I asked DH if he could do the feedings tonight and he said NO!!!!!

I am so hurt. I have strep throat and I feel awful. I also start my new job on Monday and I would like to get some rest. I asked DH (who never once woke up for Andrew) if he could do it tonight and he said no.

I am so upset right now

I truly don't understand this type of thinking, I am soooo sorry you cannot get a break tonight (or any night! )

It is just wrong that DH will not jump in when his team member needs him

I am so sorry. That is his son just as much as he is your son and your DH needs to step up and help you out, especially if he wants you to be well enough to go to work Monday. I hope you feel better soon.

WOW - that is really selfish of your husband. I would be pi$$ed at mine if he ever did that to me. I would have just gone into the bedroom and handed the baby to him and walked away. I'm sorry you are not getting the rest you need. Feel Better

THere would have been no option for my hubby, and if he thought there was an option and went back to bed, he SURELY Wouldnt have had a good sleep

I'd love to hear his reasoning after the fact! Did he have to work yesterday or today? It is the weekend -- you'd think he could at least help out during ONE night!

Wow- that is absolutely uncalled for, rude and selfish. I'd have a candid chat with him and get things straigthened out. Especially since you are also working!

I just shared this with my DH to get his impression and he told me that he thinks it is insane. From his male perspective, he said he thinks this goes deeper than taking care of the baby last night.

Who knows. Maybe your DH is going through his own version of post partum and doesn't know how to handle everything. Some people sleep when they don't know how to deal with life. Maybe this is his coping mechanism. Maybe he is missing attention he used to get from you.

You need to talk with him as caring for a child is a job for both parents, regardless of who works.

As much as some ladies say to dump the kid with him and walk away, that might not work well. In theory it makes a point, but if your DH is having any issues dealing with being a dad, he might freeze and not know how to handle himself or just ignore the baby.

There shouldn't be a choice -your baby is a responsiblity BOTH of you share.

Just wanted to send some That is terrible of your husband, but talk to him about it. Maybe he has some silly reason like he is scared he won't know what to do or something. You can't do it all yourself or you will have a complete break down. Sleep deprivation is the worst. Feel better soon!

I know I am late coming to this, but I had to respond...

I have been very sick with a never-ending viral infection that I am officially on Day 10 and this is the first day I don't look and feel like death...Thursday was my worst day and I came home from work early at like 4 pm and laid in bed...DH crept in with the baby and shut my door so Bella wouldn't see me (otherwise she would went NUTS) he fed her, bathed her, and put her to bed and then took care of me. I could not have physically done it..He came home from work on Sat and did the same, ordered me to bed and took care of Bella...

This is what I would do for DH, and I expect it to be done for me...as you should as well...Your DH needs a STERN talking to that this is a partnership and he needs to get his AZZ in shape and fast.

I"m so sorry you have to deal with this. I hope you can enlist a family member or friend for some help...
