I would say RSVP for 2 and bring a girlfriend with you. I understand not feeling comfortable not knowing anyone but the bride and groom. Maybe you can make it a girls weekend with one of your friends?
I would love that but I wouldn't bring someone else without clearing with the B&G..and I think it's a little presumptuous to even ask..
although, it would be fun.

This has come up with us too. Not a wedding, but doing things with certain friends. My feeling is that because we are married and we love each other, there are times where you make a sacrifice for your spouse and do things you don't necessarily want to, because you care about your spouse. IMO weddings definitely fall into this category. I would also find it annoying to have to explain why he wasn't there.
I would also go without him, but it wouldn't be worth it to me to get into a fight or a big drama about it. But, I don't think I would bring someone else, I would just go solo.
