How much do you usually spend on ...

parents and siblings holiday gifts?

we are celebrating the holidays with my family today since we were in NC with my DH's family for the actual holiday. Last year I went nuts and spent way too much on everyone. This year we set a limit of $50 on each person. Does this sound about right?

We're all still students, but we spend $50 on sibilings, $50 on their SOs, and about $100 on each parent.

I always go over board. Usually we spend about $150 on siblings and $300 on our parents. Mom made out a little better than everyone this year with a cruise.

That sounds fair to me. In my family we're at the point where we only get small gifts for each other (siblings) and we didn't spend all that much on our parents either. It was tough this year with the house. I will probably spend a little more on birthdays- it's easier because those are spread out, as opposed to the holidays where we have to buy for many people at once.

In DH's family we do secret Santa with a $25 limit. I am going to push for this next year with my family. It's so much easier.

Well I'm one of 5 so we spend $50 on each sibling and on DH's side he is one of 3 but everyone is married so we do a chris kringle and spend $100 on that gift. As far as parents and neices and nephews we either chip with with the other siblings or spend $50 and for my nieces and nephews we also spend $50. This year I did really good as far as budget and I dont feel like I was cheap with what people got because alot of the stuff was on sale so I was able to buy more than one item at times or I had a coupon.
