5 month old still taking 3 (sometimes 4) naps a day
DD is 5 months tomorrow and still needs at least 3 naps a day. Majority of the time they are only about 30 -60 min, OCCASIONALLY they will last in the hour and a half to two hour range. On days when her naps are more like 30 min she can sometimes take 4 of them...
My question is if you had a napper similar to DD when did they transition to 2 naps a day. I can't ever imagine DD not needing that last nap. She can really only handle 2 hours of awake time when she gets a good nap, but when she gets a 30 min nap i feel like after an hour shes rubbing her eyes again...

Around 6-7 months they went to 2 naps a day - at 9 and 1, and they would last from 1.5 to 2 hours.

DS didn't transition to 2 naps until 9 months. He's 10.5 months and still takes 2 naps.

It is totally normal for a 5 month old to need 3 naps. DS started napping only twice around 7 months. He still needs two naps at almost 10 months.

DD took 3 naps until she was over 1 year...she sometimes still does if she is overtired or sick..she is 17 months 
They total 2-3 hours max though..
