New York's 529 College Savings Program Direct Plan

If you are a NY resident, it may be beneficial to use one of the NY plans for the tax credit. The two NY companies are Columbia and Vanguard. Columbia is sold through advisors and Vanguard is do-it-yourself.

New York's Vanguard program, although we are somewhat torn between losing the state deduction and switching to another state's plan which seem to have better returns.
