Car poll
I currently have a 2-door Civic, which I love. But with Baby M coming in December, my car is going to have to go.
Which car would you pick:
Toyata Rav 4 Toyata Camry Huyndai Santa Fe Huyndai Sonata Nissan Altima Nissan Murano
I'd take other suggestions too!!

Re: Car poll
I have a 2009 4-door Honda Accord and love it!! If you end up going with a car instead of truck, I highly recommend checking it out. Lots of trunk space, roomy enough in the back for 2 carseats, and just an overall good car.

We looked at the Santa Fe, the Murano, the Nissan Rogue, the Ford Edge, the Mazda CX7 and CX9 and ultimately decided on the Mazda CX7. It drives so well and costs about 10K less than the Murano and Edge (comparably equipped). Definitely take a look at it.

Re: Car poll
I love my Rav4 -- it's actually my second (I had a 1998 and now I have a 2002). My SIL has a 2009 Rav4 and uses it with her 2 kids and loves it.
I think when I get a new car, I may get the Mazda 5. It's like a compromise between an SUV and a mini van. Has a third-row available seating (although then there's barely a trunk).

Re: Car poll
i have the camry now, which is great. but, I'm a SUV girl. I gave up my cherokee for the camry to save on gas, but now with a baby coming, I am going back to the SUV. Either the Murano, or the mazda the other poster told you to look at sound good to me :O)

Re: Car poll
I wanted an SUV.
I looked at the: Santa Fe, Ford Edge, Nissan Murano, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Maxda CX 7 & 9 and the Chevy Equinox.
I felt the more curvy ones, the CX 7, Edge and Murano lacked in overall cargo space. The CX9 was beautiful but more car than I wanted (I really didnt want a BIG car after coming from a Jetta)
I liked the Equinox but felt it had a very large blind spot and didnt like the fabric on the seats.
I fell in LOVE with the Santa Fe. We bought the Limited v-6 AWD version and I couldnt be happier! We also added the extended warranty so now we have 10 years bumper to bumper and 5 year road side assistance (I think) I only have 1 DS but can fit 3 car seats in there. (no extra space between but it would work if I had 3 kids) and we have ton of cargo space. I also felt that it was really well designed with where they put extra cargo spaces in front etc. I LOVE IT! And I felt they were pretty negotiable with the price.
GL!
ETA: I know someone who had the CX7 and felt it was too small with 2 kids.

Re: Car poll
OK! I own a 2door civic which I LOVE LOVE LOVE...
We ended up getting Murano, because it was light and sleek. Get the backup camera, its a must!
I was not comfortable with an SUV, or crossover, so used to my little car, Murano made me feel at home when I drive. Actually, DH is used to big fat American cars, and even he loves our Murano.

I vote for the Murano. I just like the look of the car, whenever I see it on the highway!

Re: Car poll
I currently have a Honda Accord 4-door and my lease is up in 2 months....9 days after my due date!
I've been shopping for a new car to lease as well, and really didn't want an SUV or Corssover, I'm a car person.
With that, I am going to be driving and likely leasing the Sonata tomorrow if I like the way it drives. I personally agree with another poster as well in recommending the Accord. It has been a great car, and if the Sonata doesn't work out, it's the only other car (besides possibly a Camry which I'm not crazy about) that meets my needs/wants. I would certainly check it out.
My DH has a Santa Fe, a mid-model, and while he loves it, I hate it. For ME it doesn't have enough power, I hate the seats (suedy cloth) and he makes me put my seat up so close to the windshield, at least for MY comfort, because DH likes to put his feet up on my seat..... I guess for a preggo, being a passenger in that car is a nightmare.
Good luck!
ETA I also looked at the Altima, and for the price it was WAY too expensive for what they are giving you. Although these days, leases are

Re: Car poll
We had a 4 door Accord and LOVE it!!! Affordable and surprisingly roomy and comfortable.
We just ordered a 2011 Subaru Outback. It is one of the highest rated by Motor Trend. DH did a TON of research. We will have 2 DC's and found that this will give us everything we need.

For the OP, they have since changed the engine in the Santa Fe. We got the V-6 as DH felt there is no point in a 4 cyl SUV not sure what the means but okay....
We just took it to PA and it drove great! plenty of power. And I was pretty happy with the gas mileage for an SUV - 27 miles per gallon on the hwy.
My DS is 38 inches tall and he can totally kick the seats if he wanted to. But since getting the new car our rule is no feet on the seats and so far he is listening!

We have a Rogue. It's perfect for 1 child, but a little tight for 2. I would keep that in mind if you are planning on having more kids in the future.

I am more comfortable driving a car, I have a Corolla, DH drives the MDX (I CAN drive it, but rarely do .........)
Is this your only car? If so, I'd say get an SUV - if it's a second vehicle, get whatever you are most comfortable with

DH drives a Mini Cooper. Lots of fun to drive, but not exactly family-friendly. Any car I get would become the "family car."
Thank you for the tips, ladies!!

Re: Car poll
we have a 2007 Huyndai Sonata. We like it. We love the warranty. Both visors have broken and they fixed them. Things I hate, the car doors kind of close themselves. I have had those heavy doors slam into the back of my shoulders while trying to put my girls in the carseats, hate that! Also our airbag light has come on twice. Both times it was something wrong with the sensor in the latch part of the passenger seat belt. They cover that though and fixed it twice but still a PITA.
