5week old coughing? normal
do babies naturally cough?
he has been doing it 3 days now
no fever though
he coughs with his milk or just out iof no where
no stuffy nose
ive been taking him out for walks but all covered
thanks

DS does the same thing. I don't think it's a problem, but ask your Ped anyway. Now he's 4 months and cough talks... smiles the whole time though.
He may be clearing something out too and it makes him feel better

At 5 weeks old I would bring him to the ped to have it checked just in case!

My PED told me that couging and sneezing in a 4-5 week old is normal and doesn't mean something is wrong. I did the same thing when DD was 5 weeks and went to the doctor.

I woud call the ped and see what he/she says, when they are that small I don't like to take chances with guessing, KWIM?

When we were discharged from the hospital the nurse said sneezes were okay & normal, coughs were not (to the extent that they are really coughing, not a little "milk went down the wrong hole/too fast cough").
