7 lbs in 2 weeks
Just went to my Dr's appt.
7 lbs in 2 weeks.
Sweet.
I gained nothing until 17 weeks, so for all of you ladies who think you're in the clear...guess again!

That's the thing...I feel good, I am exercising, my blood pressure is good, everyone comments on how "good" I look, it's just the scale that has to argue with me!!

EXACTLY!!! Did you think you would escape pg weight gain? The 2nd and 3rd trimesters you will gain about 1lb a week and that's perfectly normal!!

Re: 7 lbs in 2 weeks
I can sympathize...I gained about 12 at my last appointment (4 weeks)...
I was HORRIFIED, but what can you do? Like you, I feel good - my BP is great, the baby is healthy...my doc told me to cut back on empty carbs and limit the sweets...
So I'm doing the best I can, but I have to constantly watch my weight / what I eat when I am not pregnant, so I let myself have treats because I am pg!!

Well, I'm averaging about 3.5 lbs a week, so I'm way off track. I'm up 38 lbs and I still have 6 weeks to go.

But you're taking GREAT care of your body while you're pregnant! Don't let it get you down too much! You're doing all that you can to say in shape while pregnant and it's going to pay off once the baby is born!
ps....I won't even tell you how much I've gained so far....and how little activity I do!

Re: 7 lbs in 2 weeks
ok, thanks. I really felt down after today's appt...like I am doing something wrong. I am stuffing my face like a big heifer, but besides that I am doing everything right.

I can understand your frustration! I eat well, exercise and I still gained 35 lbs already at 32 weeks. With DD i gained 50+lbs and didn't really do things much differently, except i was on bedrest for 10 weeks.
it will all come off I lost all but 5 lbs of mine by 5 month pp then i got pg again.
With that kind of gain, your pressure is okay though? It's got to be water weight

It sounds to me like you take care of yourself so I wouldn't even give it a second thought. It's probably fluid and I SWEAR the two scales in my docs office are different so you never know.

Re: 7 lbs in 2 weeks
More than likely water weight!!!! I talked to my doctor about this b/c I really really watch what I eat and I keep track of what Im eating b/c of my diabetes risk. Any way....I gain 10lbs like the minute I get pregnant which I dont count!!! Since then Ive gain another 9 lbs...all this on a basically 1800 calorie per day diet...and Im 5'8"!

Re: 7 lbs in 2 weeks
i'm with you i know how you feel! i am up 40 lbs. and i am like a week ahead of you. one month i gained 12 lbs-it was horrible. i used to be a runner so weight was never an issue so it makes it harder i know. i am so looking forward to "getting" my body back even though i know it won't happen over night. i just want to have a waist again!!!

Then I would not worry about it!!!
ETA: I only gained 21 Lbs so far but my feet are so swollen it looks like I gained 40 Lbs. Most people are chocked when I tell them how much I gained. They probably think I lie.

Re: 7 lbs in 2 weeks
I had big weight gains last pregnancy around 22-25 weeks and then every week until the end. It stinks but its normal.
