This made me laugh. What is their criteria? Congestion? Overpriced housing? Overcrowding? Insane taxes? Sounds idyllic! How Americana!

8 LI Towns top best place to live in America
And yet none of them are number one. I can never understand the allure of Long Island when there are some many more places out there with good schools, good neighborhoods, great house and lower taxes.

I actually used to love it here. But then the pandemic happened, started looking into other areas and realized what life could have been like. It's too late for me, but those with young children - SAVE YOURSELVES!

I may be a biased bumpkin at this point of my life but all these towns are in Nassau which to me feels like I may as well be in Queens. I love the more rural feel of the East end, with more space between neighbors. Whenever I have to make a left turn in Nassau I get afraid someone is going to hit me with all those lights with no turn lanes, and the parking is terrible everywhere.

Parking is terrible everywhere and they keep making the spaces smaller and the cars keep getting bigger. It's a nightmare. Not to mention I have noticed in the past year everyone beeps their horn at everyone. If you are at a light and you don't hit the gas a second after it turns green people are laying on the horn. It's awful.

Yeah, no. Sorry, but even the most affluent and most "desirable" parts of LI are just not appealing in any kind of way to me. There isn't a single redeeming quality about any part of LI to me and nothing desirable about it. Long time LIers talk about it like it is the be all, but I. JUST. DON'T. SEE. IT. And at this point I never will.
No thanks. It's not for me.

Same. I don't get it
Sometimes when I am driving around my area I think about how pretty it is and there are some towns on Long Island that I love, like Northport for example. But overall it's just not worth it when you have to deal with all the other ugly parts, all the traffic, all the nasty people etc.
