8 months and no interest in a sippy cup. How old was your DC when they started to use one?
My 1st daughter was taking sips from a sippy cup at 4 months - i've introduced the sippy cups to my 8 month old numerous times in fact I offer it to her everyday and she tosses it on the floor, wants nothing to do with it and refused to learn to use it.
Just curious if any moms out there are experiencing this with their 8 + month old child?

My son drank proficiently from a sippy at 6.5 mom because he never took a bottle. My dd is 11 mo and hates it.

I introduced at 6 months, took till about 8 and 1/2 months for it to set in and then a month later or so he was really good at it...so maybe every day use happened at like 10 months?

My ped never mentioned a sippy to me - the only reason I wanted to start him on it was bc of LIF.
At 12 months he is now just getting the hang of it - they do everything on their own timetable.

i introduced the sippy cup at about 5.5 months...took her a week or so to understand how to get the water out...shes now 6.5 months and knows exactly what its for and how to get the water out!

I didn't introduce a sippy cup until Alex was about 13 months old.

I'd say we started around 8 months, she didn't really show an interest or figure it out until around 10 months. Now at almost 13 months she's an expert, has been for close to 2 months I'd say.

I began offering it to dd at 6 months, but she did not get it until about 9-10 months

I tried starting at 6 months but my DS wanted nothing to do with it until 12 months. By 15 months he was totally off the bottle.
