Re: 8th grade state exam question
In all seriousness, what were the actual answers supposed to be? I can't figure it out.

So apparently the section is being thrown out due to the complaints. Does that mean we get a partial refund from Pearson?! Or the committee who approved it? The article also includes the actual test passage and questions. I will say it's better than the version posted here but still.
Times article
Here's the actual passage and questions
No ninjas or toothpaste at least.
What's with question #6 from the actual passage? "In what order are the events in the story told?" My guess for the answer would be "B. In the order in which events happen." Is it just me or is that a weird question?

What day was this test given? I hope all districts have given the make up tests before this hit the news!
Our makeups are Monday and Tuesday. Shocked to see this posted (not this post...but news articles, etc.).
I guess because it's getting 'thrown out' it's ok to discuss in NYT?

That's the only question that actually made sense to me !!
These tests are such BS when it comes to accurately evaluating what kids have learned. And now that they want to use these scores to grade teachers?!?! NY seems to be setting up both kids and teachers for failure!
