9/11 - Community Service related
What kind of community service activities do you think a child could do that is 9/11 related?
The memorial only accepts volunteers 18 & older.

9/11 specific charities: You could contact Tuesday's Children to see if they need help with anything since they were formed in the wake of 9/11 to serve the children who lost parents in the attack.
NY Says Thank You Foundation was formed after the idea of a 5 year old boy in 2003 as his response to 9/11.
FealGood Foundation serves the first responders
Graybeards
Michael Lynch Foundation

Because of dad is retired USAF we tend to pick military support organizations: We've made cards to send to troops serving in theater through AnySoldier.com, Give 2 The Troops and Operation Gratitude * Please remember no glitter, it can fall off the card, stick to their clothes and make them easy to see by the other side.
We've also put together care packages for troops via the above organizations that include drawings & letters from the kids. You don't have to spend a lot, they are really appreciative of everything, even books you are done with and local newspapers to read.
My kids recycle our bottles & cans and then use the deposit money to donate to charity. Over the summer they picked Wounded Warrior Project and last year they picked America's Vet Dogs
Make cards & cookies or brownies for your local fire department.
