I need help - car/service related question
I picked up my new car on tuesday and they offered to install an alarm for what seemed to be a good price so I said ok and we made an appt to install the alarm tomorrow. I thought about it a little bit and realized I really don't need an alarm but when I called and tried to cancel they're telling me it's already paid for and they already ordered the parts and I can't cancel. Does this make sense? I understand what they're saying but I think it's my right to cancel the alarm installation if I want to. What do you think?

you are not obligated to take the alarm. Demand your money back immediately.
How dare they do that to people! They can send the parts back. That's nonsense.

thank you, the more I'm hearing people's opinions the more I realize how much they are screwing with me. Now they keep telling me to call back

I highly doubt that they can do that- insist on your money back!
Did you put it on a credit card? If so, you can call the cc and have them contest it.

Definately cancel your charge if they put it on your card. Did you sign anything that said no cancellations. If not, then cancel.

I don't remember but I don't recall signing anything that said that.

Well it was on DH's CC and he was appalled when I told him to cancel the charge. I don't know why.

Unless you signed something stating you could not get a refund, you absolutely have the right to cancel and get your money back. Dispute the charge if they don't give you the money back.

Re: I need help - car/service related question
Victory is mine! I didn't want the alarm because I wanted the backup sensor more so he said for the cost of the backup sensor, which isn't much at all they'll do both the alarm and the sensor. Fine by me! Thanks for your advice everyone
