9 month old suddenly refusing solids
DS was a great eater in the beginning. Slowly over the past 2 months or so, he started spitting out food here and there that he didn't like (all purees). It progressed to spitting out all veggies/meat and just eating fruit and oatmeal. Now he even spits out the fruit and oatmeal. He hasn't been able to finish a stage 2 container in a couple of weeks and he won't touch the purees I make him anymore.
He's drinking his bottles ok but this has me a little concerned. He will pick up finger foods to feed himself but he just sucks on the pieces of food and then spits them out. The only thing he doesn't spit out are puffs and some yogurt (which he has just started to spit out as well).
I mentioned this to the PED at his 9m appt and she didn't express any concern but it's really starting to bother me. In such a short amount of time, I went from not being able to pack enough food because DS was so hungry all the time to having to throw out food constantly because he refuses to eat. He is teething, but this just seems excessive to me. He's not sleeping well either. Anyone else experience this? Should I be worried?

I would try table food. DS might not want purees anymore.
DS also went through times when he wouldn't eat. mostly around times he was cutting teeth but that would only last a few days.
Also their tastes change so what they liek one minute they will hate the next. I would either try table food or just keep with purees. I'm sure its just a phase.

at 9 1/2 months, my son refused all solids and only wanted things he could feed himself.

Since he's spitting out solids too - it could be something with the teething - I know when DS is uncomfy with teething, he doesn't eat as much and he chews things up and spits them out. All of that snot and drool in their tummy makes them uncomfy.

I've been going through the same thing with my 9 month old for a few weeks now. She used to eat anything I put in front of her and now refuses 3/4 of the meals I prepare. She has cut 3 teeth one after another in the past 3 weeks and I think one more is about to pop through so I think that's definitely part of it.
I use a variety of tricks and techniques that sometimes work, sometimes don't. If she refuses dinner, I'll make plain oatmeal (which she won't eat in the morning) and after a few bites I'll start putting some meat or veg on the spoon with it and she'll eat some. Yesterday she wouldn't eat mashed banana, picking it up with her fingers wasn't happening, so I tried putting it on a fork and she took it that way. Then she refused but when I gave her the fork she fed herself a few more bites. The one thing she's really liking is pastina which I mix with pureed veggies. Another thing that seems to be working is giving her the pouches and letting her eat straight from them. She sucked down 4+ ounces in minutes this afternoon when I gave her one. She does well with cheerios but a lot of other finger foods are pretty hit or miss.
Sorry you're going through this. It's definitely frustrating!

I'm hoping it's just his teeth because he is spitting out the table food after he puts it in his mouth. I haven't tried pastina yet and I was wondering about trying the pouches. I'll have to give those a try. Thanks for the ideas!
