Feeding solids Schedule for your 6 month old?
What is your schedule like now that you started to feed your child solids??
Riley just started a few ago really eating oatmeal for one of the meals a day the rest is still bottles. I can tell she is ready for more just not sure what to give and how much? When does the food start to replace a bottle? Do you still give a bottle after food?
We go next week to the dr for her 6 mth check up so I have a list of questions just wondering what your kids schedules are like now.
TIA Denise

Re: Feeding solids Schedule for your 6 month old?
At that age, solids should not replace a bottle. DD would get some cereal in the morning about an hour after nursing and the same in the evening. After a few weeks we introduced some new things like carrots and sweet potatoes and bananas.
You really can't overfeed a baby solids at this point so if she is acting interested in the solids, you can keep giving them to her. She will turn away when she is done. You can make 3-4 tbsp of cereal to start.

Re: Feeding solids Schedule for your 6 month old?
I had wanted to wait until Julianne was 6 months old (next week) mostly because she has tummy issues. But this kid wasn't having any of that and made it known throughout the house pretty quickly Because she still spits up I give her a bottle and solids at least an hour apart. I will give her pureed fruit in the morning and pureed veggies at dinner. She HATES any green veggie so I mix peas or greenbeans with sweet potato or squash right now.

DS is currently eating 3x per day. He has been for about 2 weeks now. I haven't decreased his bottles but sometimes he will not drink the full amount.

Re: Feeding solids Schedule for your 6 month old?
Once I started Sean on food (about 4.5 months I guess) his 'meal' replaced his bottle.
For a long time he only ate breakfast and dinner, the remainder of the day were bottles -
Now at almost 8 months his sched is
6AM - Bottle 9:30 AM Breakfast (He eats a large container of fruit and about 3 Tablespoons of cereal) 1:00 ish Lunch - Again, 3 Tbsp cereal, large veggie, and if he's still hungry, fruit as well. 3:30 ish - Bottle 6:30 Dinner - Cereal, Large veggie, and whatever fruit is leftover from lungh 9:00 Bottle
ETA - Sean never drinks more than a 6 oz bottle, and most of the time will drink only 4-5 oz at a time ........
Sometimes he takes a bottle between breakfast and lunch, but it's only if his napping is off that day - He normally takes 2, 2 hour naps one around 11ish and the other about 3:30/4ish
