YEs they had a girl who was screaming that she was burning up and was so hot and asking the 911 operator if she was gonna die, she was saying, Im gonna die arent I?
And then they said she did.
I dont think this should be on tv

I started watching the 11:00 news last night, that came on and I "talked" to the TV..."Ok, time for bed"..
I clicked it off..I just can't listen..

I guess I understand the public's right to hear them, but I find it upsetting at the same time. I heard part of one last night when they used it to plug the 11 o'clock news and it just makes me think they're doing it for ratings. I really didn't need or want to hear even part of a call.

I get the whole public has a right to know thing too. HOWEVER, I think the tv networks should be WAY more sensative about this and not have actual calls as a teaser for the story.
Let the people who want to listen tune in and leave it at that

I could have lived my entire life twice without ever hearing those calls on the news last night and I would have been all the happier for it.
I was there, I lived it, I imagined those phone calls at the time and I know personally what one person's last words were to her mother...that's painful enough. I don't want to hear them on the news as well.

I totally agree! I really don't see the need and feel horrible for those family members that might hear it.

OMG - I was almost in tears last night just thinking about it!!
I had a doctor's appt yesterday and they had a TV in the waiting room and they were playing - I almost had a panic attack!!
I think they should be kept for the families only.

Im not saying that its right, or that I want to hear the desperate pleas of dying men and woman on the news but its the publics rights!

Personally I do not think that the public should have the right to hear ANY 911 calls. Suppose you are calling regarding a medical emergency? Should that be a matter of public record? I don't think it should.
And as for these calls in particular, I feel very bad if they are releasing any of the victims last words without that victim's families permission. If this were my family member I would NOT want people listening to their last crys for help. Those moments are very private and very personal. That's just my opinion though.

Unfortunately, it is public record and any time you make a 911 call, it could become public (like a court hearing).
I have not heard the 911 calls and I am going to avoid them as much as possible. I cannot handle hearing them, I have no idea how the families can
