It's this old school fear mongering that has people turning away from churches. I have noticed and increase in people who call themselves 'spiritual' over religious these days. If they want to drive people away from their congregation, they are doing a damn fine job!

I was really taken aback. I thought the church was supposed to welcome everyone. I don’t think people choose to be gay, I think they are born that way. I think it was really close minded.
Also a REALLY good point of a PP is it could confuse boys and children who don't know what the song is.

OK first of all how can you take anything too seriously when this is the name of the town you live in.
But HICKSVILLE is a serious town name?
And it's not just small town Ohio churches that take this ugly view. Pope Benedict XVI has called homosexuality "an intrinsic moral evil".

i'm sorry but LMAO!!!!
these types of churches really crack me up sometimes. i think it was barb who posted about a church in northport that always has some kind of "doozy" up on their board like "you think it is hot here" or something like that!
then - there is one by my parents that is a riot.
i think it is so ridiculous and out of the realm of reality that i have to laugh --- but then, you do think about the underlying message and how they are soooo not open minded to people who are different than them.
but my gut reaction is to and so that shows how credible THAT message is!
