A cop in my brother's precinct was shot tonight
It's always horrible, but it's scarier when it hits so close to home. He was shot 3 times. Please pray for him that he recovers quickly.

I heard this on the news, but thankfully they say he will recover!!!! I think a friend of mine used to be in that same precinct, so I almost know how you feel when you hear the precinct number on the news and you wonder just for a second...
At least the coward that did it is gone forever... may he rot in hell.

Thats the same one on the news? oh My g-d! Even if its not a cop or anyone who gets shot. My prayers go to his family and your brothers safety out there and all cops for that matter

I'm so glad he's going to recover. Thank God for kevlar!
It's hard being related to a cop. I really hate when the news teases a story for the news and just say something like "Cop shot. Details at 11" Do they have any idea how every person whose loved one is on the job feels?

My husband is a cop and those stories were always sad but now they really hit home and it reminds me of what a noble profession law enforcement is.

I cringe every time I hear a cop is shot, and my dad has been retired for several years now... But for more than 20 years, he worked in the 73rd and 75th precincts, which if any one knows, are not the greatest! I will keep the family in my prayers.

It was the 73 (Brownsville)
The 75 was named the WORST precinct back in January, with the 73 not too far behind.

Yep, most murderous pct. in NYC! My dad was the Commanding Officer of the 75 for many years.... Good Ol' East East New York. He eventually retired out of the 69 in Canarsie.

my dad was in the 77th- also not the greatest... its scary...
