A couple of questions for 2nd time moms, especially those that had twins the 2nd time around...
I'm a regular poster and it's way to early for me to come out, but I'm seriously freaking out and have a couple of questions, especially for those that had twins after having a singleton.
How do you do it? Seriously??? I'm going to be a mom of 3 under 2. My DC is going to be 17 months old when these babies are born, and I'm really freaking out over how I'm going to be able to handle this. I remember what it's like having a newborn, but that was ONE newborn, not 2 at the same time! I'm only 6.5 weeks and already extreamly overwhelmed by the thought of it.
Please be brutaly honest, I know it's going to be hard...
Also, when did you start to show? I know many 2nd time pregnancies women tend to show earlier. We definately want to keep this quiet until my 2nd trimester, but if I start to show early, most likely that won't happen! With my DC I started showing where it was obvious I was pregnant around 19 weeks.
TIA!

Re: A couple of questions for 2nd time moms, especially those that had twins the 2nd time around...
Like you, I found out Im having twins with my DD who will be 3. Not the closest in age but this has been the biggest SHOCK of my life.
Truth is I started crying when I found out, between the shock, fear, nervousness, and excitement!
Its SO normal to have all these mixed feelings!
Also if you know me which most dont on here, I dont have lots of patience, and not the most organized person in the world and now Im going to have 3 kids, 2 at the same time! I also am one of those who needs to get up and go...something that is going to change for me. I also only wanted 2 children.
It def has been taking time to settle in and every day I am happy and then nervous as I think what is to come.
Perfect ex was today....dropping off my DD at daycare and HOW COLD IT IS out and I sat in there car thinking, I have to do this with 3 kids?!? Running each child in the house? HOW???
I truly think god gives us what we can handle and that all will work itself out. I had a plan but somehow it was made to be different.
Will it be hard? Sure. its going to be a big learning process and experience! I think about how amazing it will be too.
I see lots of support on here as well and that is what we are here to do, to vent and help each other out.

Re: A couple of questions for 2nd time moms, especially those that had twins the 2nd time around...
First off Congrats!!!
I remember those days, when people would say congrats, how exciting and I would think ..scary is more like it.
The entire PG was kinda a blur, but went fast. My son was 28 months when the twins were born.
My post will be kinda skewed since I'm right smack in the deep of it right now and overwhelmed..i'm told it will get easier or different in time.
You just figure out ways to do it all. ( ex...My 2 yr old is preparing his "toys" for our play time right now , while one baby is in the swing and I'm rocking the other one in a smaller swing w/ my foot while eating a bagel, drinking my coffee and posting on here...although one babies crying and the 2 yr old keeps yelling at me to "come here". LOL)
My advice, GET help, all the help you can...anytime someone offers . I was fortunate enough to have a family membe r( or two!) help me every day for the first 3-4 weeks and that helped me adjust a lot.
Just be prepared for life to change a lot. The more you accept that, I think the easier the transition will be ..My lifestyle was hit hard with changes. I can't do anything I was used to and so it has made me a bit nuts b/c I went from active to unable to be active ( outside the home) but in the end it is all worth it. When my girls smile at me, the world literally stops while my heart melts and ALL the frustration is gone( for that second anyway..LOL)
I wish I had more advice, but am seeking it myself.
All I can really say is it's been done, people survive and you will too!
FM me anytime if you want to talk more.
Congrats again!

Re: A couple of questions for 2nd time moms, especially those that had twins the 2nd time around...
Deb - I'm the same way, not much paitence, and I don't deal well at all with lack of sleep. I count my blessinngs every day that DC started to STTN very young, and only hope I get lucky again! I too cried in the Drs. office after seeing the two sacs. This wasn't really THAT much of a surprise as this was via IVF and knew this was definately a possibility.
Donna - Thank you so much, I saw your post the other day which I guess prompted this post! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support on this site!
I know I can be jumping the gun here since I'm so early and we've only just seen the sacs and no heartbeats yet. Hopefully we will see them this week.
