are pantyhose ok to wear?
they were a big no no for a while. But this friend hates her pasty spider veiny legs and has a wedding to attend this sunday. Yay or Nay?

I say Nay! I would suggest self tanner or the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. That works great!

Hose are fine, as long as they are a good shade, not a weird tan or pasty color.

Re: A friend wants to know..
I have nothing against pantyhose and wear them in the winter for outfits that don't look good with tights. I am not sure how they got this bad rap. I do make sure to only wear very sheer nude though.
However, from about now on through the summer and early fall I do Sally Hansen Airbrush legs. It makes your legs look AMAZING and perfect.

I wear them all the time for work. I think, in a professional setting, they are more appropriate than bare legs.

It's very unprofessional in certain fields not to wear pantyhose. I think they look fine as long as they are sheer and you aren't wearing open toes.

Unless you're in a courtroom or work in a real conservative co, hose shouldn't be worn. Try airbrush legs, it really works grest

Re: A friend wants to know..
I say it's fine, I really don't understand this whole movement against pantyhose Can someone seriously answer why they should never be worn, even in the dead of winter, I mean its cold! I understand not in the summer And of course not with open toed shoes or a crazy nude that doesn't match your skin

I don't understand it either.
I can't tell you the last time I wore a pair, but I don't gasp at anyone who does. Same for anyone who wears them with open toed shoes.

It's fine. People such as myself with permanent veiny veins post-partum and cellulite even on my skinny legs laugh at the effectiveness of self tanner to hide this stuff.

I say nay, especially since its memorial day weekend! I could somewhat see it if it was winter and she would be cold going bare legs, but not for spring/summer. Find a good self tanner, I like both San Tropez and Vita Liberata (mousse).

Re: A friend wants to know..
I think the bad reputation is that we automatically think of it as something older or elderly women wear. I say it's ok as long as thy are sheer. With that said, can anyone recommend one that is really sheer? lol It's always good to keep a pair on hand, just in case.

I think they are ugly. They don't make your legs look nicer. IMO they draw attention to them.
And really does a tiny thin piece of material really keep you warm in the winter? Back in the 80's when I did wear hose I can honestly say I was never warmer because of them.
I work in the legal field and if I ever had to wear hose I would opt for pants instead.
I have never worn them (since the 80s) for a formal event. A self tanner and lotion does wonders.

I haven't worn them in ages but I think they are fine and I wouldn't think twice about wearing them if I felt like it. Just buy a better quality pair that's a nice material (no buying them at the drug store lol) and no open toed shoes!

As someone that will wear them when needed, yes they do keep my legs a little warmer, And when you have pasty white legs I think it does look better with hose. Self tanner doesn't always work well especially when the rest of me is still pretty pale. You really have to be picky and buy the right pair but I will continue to wear mine when needed

I am not against hose either but I wanted to tell you that self tanner does NOTHING compared to Airbrush legs. It's not a self tanner, it's a leg makeup. I have HORRIBLE spider veins and it covers them. Self tanner just accentuates the hair follicles and imperfections for me, but this stuff REALLY hides it all. it's a miracle in a can!

I have to find the kind I get. They are so sheer they are practically not visible. Love them. Hang on I will search.
Found them!

Call me old fashioned, but if you are wearing a suit, pantyhose are required. Now, there may be some exceptions for summer suits, but in genera,l IMHO "skirt suit=pantyhose."

I think it's fine - For work I must wear pantyhose (except in summer) if i have a skirt on. It is definitely not acceptable to have bare legs. I wouldn't wear with open toe shoes though.
I have to try the airbrush tanner where can you buy it??
