A little upset--- update on my pain after retrieval...
So I went to the Dr this morning, I just showed up and told them how much pain I was in and they took me right in.
They gave me a sono and bloodwork and told me my overies are VERY swollen...
So then I see the dr, and she says that we might only put back 1 embryo instead of 2.
I was kind of upset...
Then when they call me to set up my transfer time, they say I need to come in 1 hour early to do another sono to make sure that I can even do the transfer or if we need to freeze everything...
I will be so upset if we cannot do the transfer and cannot do 2 embryos... I mean really, what are the odds of transferring 1 and it actually sticking...
I guess time will tell... I actually still have pains tonight but they are 110 better then earlier today... I think it is because I finally went #2 (TIM sorry girls) but most likely that on top of the cramps was making me like beveled over all weekend long.
Has anyone else ever had this and convinced them to transfer 2 embryos?

Re: A little upset--- update on my pain after retrieval...
I overstimulated and they were going to cancel my transfer. I begged my doctor to proceed with it and he just advised me to drink a lot because if the bloodwork showed that I was dehydrated, he wouldn't let me go through with it. Day of transfer, he let me do it. But, when I was about to have them put back inside me, he advised on only doing one instead of two...I was so upset and told him no lol...I wanted the two..he warned me that I could have a very difficult pregnancy if I started out with OHSS, but I told him that I would deal with it. Turns out, things happen for a reason..I didn't get pregnant and I am kind of glad now that I look back. I would have suffered a lot.
So, just be careful because he may be suggesting that because if you start out overstimulated...twins can put you on bedrest very early on in your pregnancy(according to my RE)...
I later got pg with a natural FET..and at that point my body fully recovered from all of the meds..
Good luck!!

Re: A little upset--- update on my pain after retrieval...
As I posted in your other post- At ER they got 27 eggies.....I ended up with 13 great embies on day 3 and was pushed to a day 5 transfer with the intentions all along of putiing back 2....Day 5 came and my embies were doing SO well (double blastocysts AA quality) that Dr.Sung basically insisted that we only put back 1 due to my risk of OHSS and the fact that OHSS can be heightened by pregnancy should it take...I was devestated, literally to tears but listened to what she said, and my DH agreed after she stressed to us that not only was it a risk to the pregnancy, but my own life....
Long story short- I am pleased to say that I am now 28 weeks along with a healthy singleton and 3 ( double blast 5 & 6 day ) frosties...I am so glad that I listened to her- god forbid what would have happened if I didn't....I know it seems devestating now, but if this is what they are really recommending, its for the right reason...I will also say that I assumed automatically I would only have 1/2 the chance of getting pregnant (1 embie instead of 2, that would make sense right ?) Well- the Dr. said it only would decrease my chance by 2% statistically- that helped me to come to terms with it...Good Luck , I hope my story made some sense

I can only say that if you do get PG the symptoms will be compounded so badly you'll almost wish you weren't. Take the advice of your RE on this one, they have a lot of experience and have been through this before. They only want to do whats best for you. If you transferred both and didn't get PG - and think about the stress your body is under in general, not going to help your chances of getting PG - would you then blame yourself because you forced him to transfer both?
It's a very serious situation....trust the Dr. on this one.

Did they do the PGD yet? If you have a lot of eggs left, PLEASE try to think of the positive outcomes available to you...the desire is strong, but like Gerty said, you will be in bad pain

Re: A little upset--- update on my pain after retrieval...
Thanks Ladies for your honest opinions...
I just woke up from a nap and I put a heating pad on my belly... and I am honestly feeling a lot better.
I will be honest on how I am feeling the day of the transfer and trust whatever they tell me.
Thank you for at least giving me hope.

Re: A little upset--- update on my pain after retrieval...
First off I am sorry you are not feeling well. It sounds like you have OHSS which can get worse if you are pregnant, especially with twins. If it makes you feel any better, I am 13 weeks pregnant after a 5 day transfer of one embryo. You may want to see if a 5dt is an option for you if only transfering 1. GL!
