A load of BS???
Yesterday, DH's Aunt told me that if you haven't taken a lamaze class, that they won't let the father be in the delivery room with you. DH swears she's full of it, but she swore it was true and it really scared the heck out of me, because I sure as heck don't want to be alone in there. Nobody told me it was mandatory. So tell me, is she really full of it, or is that the truth?

I have never heard of this, I think is bs. not everyone uses those breathing techniques anyways. Don't worry girl, your dh will be with you.

We didn't and Dh was right there holding my left leg.. lol
I know tons of people who went premature and didn't have the opportunity and their Dh's, boyfriends or *support* was allowed in.

Re: A load of BS???
I have never heard of that before. I am not taking a lamaze class. I do plan on taking a birthing class but it's not through the hospital and come hell or high water my DH will be in the room with me. I think his aunt is wrong on this one.

Re: A load of BS???
She probably told you that because back in the day, that's the only way the dad would be allowed in the hospital (like 30 years ago), but most hospitals don't follow that policy anymore... don't worry!

Re: A load of BS???
I have never heard of that either...until yesterday when I was at a party and talking to this older couple (in their 50's)...this man was not allowed in the room with his wife because he did not complete the lamaze classes. At the hospital where I'm having my baby...my sister had hers theirs and they never went for lamaze.
I think what someone said is true...maybe this was the case years ago...but not anymore.
