A new way to deal with pregnancy announcements
Because they are coming practically weekly these days, I have decided to try something new. I always go to the Why not me? When it will be my turn? This was their first month trying.... And it turns into a pity party. Once in a while, it ok. But now that it's literally Every.Single. Week. My whole life feels like a big pity party.
SO......
with the latest announcement, I started to go right into my depression and then I stopped myself and said.. I should be GLAD that they didn't have to go through what I am going through. I always feel so horrible for people when they are dealing with IF because I know how hard it is. In so many ways. I know I wish my friends with IF would get pregnant every cycle that passes. Instead of going into a tailspin of pity, I said Thank God. Good for them. I don't want anyone else to ever have to feel the way I have felt for the past 2 years.
It helped.
I still felt some jealousy, but I didn't let it sit. I just felt glad for the fact that they are one less couple going through this daily struggle.
Next announcement you hear, try it. It really helps.

I have my moments where i am ok with being like this and others where i just can't help it. I don't think "we" the infertile, want to be upset and unhappy for others its just out of our control. So trying to stay positive is a great way to approach it!

Yes, you have to turn it around sometimes to keep yourself going. The negative will just keep us down. That's why I am shopping for the little ones in my family now and facing it. I always believe the good you put out will come back to you.
