did anyone's baby with the red neck rash around it get infected?

does the rash have an odor? Charlie had one for the longest time...it was from nursing. The milk that dribbled out of her mouth nestled into the folds of her neck. It didn't phase her - the rash or the odor LOL - and it eventually passed when she became more proficient at nursing.

It does get easier...it may take a while and it may feel like years, but eventually you all find a groove and it gets easier.

You're doing a great job mama...stay strong Chat Icon

anxiety has become my middle name!

motherhood has aged me. years.
I look at pics of me pregnant with #1, then just 3 short years later...wow. huge difference.

#1 put me through it.
never slept, ever unless being held upright by me in a specific chair for first 8 mos.
woke up every night till 20 mos.
dealt with bad diapers and rashes on face till we could pin point what his allergies were.
fever induced seizure at 15 mos. this sent me into cucko cucko land. home alone, sick baby...figure a luke warm bath to get him clean would be nice for him. nope...one foot in, went into seizure. i will never forget those 5 minutes for as long as i live.
my world stopped...holding this naked little boy, shaking violently, eyes rolled back...me out in the streets yelling for 911 with my reason for being in my arms. tried calling 911, he flipped out of my arms onto couch. called, forgot apt #. out in street screaming again.
seizure stopped...my baby, naked and stiff, unresponsive in my arms. i told myself even though he is brain dead, he is out josh, the one we love. heard ambulance finally, they came in to find me hugging this stiff naked little body. well...
it was clear, i caused seizure. i did not know tub was a no no. 6 paramedics stood there telling me so.

few months later, breathing a little funny...i said let me bring him into peds. take my time getting him ready, drive up to peds...within minutes he is thrown into ambulance...in distress! i had no idea.
ambulance eff up #2!!

I can go on and on with this one.
sweet baby jessie. so good. my little darling. 3 coughs when she was 10 days old...ran into peds as though she was on her last breathe! ped told me anyone else would count it as a cough, i say distress, someone get this kid out of my custody!Chat Icon and he was completely right! i can't handle a cough!

we just went through the week i had been dreading since i got my second bfp...bad asthma week with my little newborn to care for as well. made it through.

i am soooooooooooooo crazy...i was getting our stuff ready this am to leave...lay jessie down in cradle. i turn to leo and ask if he thinks she is okay?? he says what? i said do you feel like she maybe a little slow? he said what? why?
my reply, how can she just lay there content! Chat Icon a baby, just fed and changed, laying. that is anxiety.

I would say relax, but as someone with anxiety issues myself, it is easier said than done. But these little ones are far more resilient than they seem. And it's hardest when they are really young and cannot communicate what is bothering them.

My first suggestion is to call your pediatrician and ask him/her to look at Luce again, listen to his lungs, etc. Make sure he doesn't need antibiotics or any other treatment for the rash. Don't worry about seeming overly anxious, you will put your mind at ease, and that's important for both of you.

The teething is hard also. DSs nose ran far more often last year when he was getting teeth. I know that is supposed to be a myth, but I feel as if his congestion is much better now. Either that or he had colds last winter, but he always seemed fine, just cranky and congested.

I agree, the worries only get bigger. Call your pediatrician, do what you need to do, and let the rest go as best you can. I'm sure he'll be well in no time, and believe it or not, you will probably forget this period. I am sorry about your friend, I don't think that's helping your spirits either.Chat Icon Chat Icon If Luce is up tonight, ask DH to take him. A good night's sleep might do you wonders.
