A question about Central Air...How many seers does your unit have?

Also do you have baseboard heating or vents(forced hot air)? If you have vents are they in the ceiling or ground level?

Thank you for any info you can provide.

They tried to sell me a 13 seer but I pushed for a 16. I have ceiling CAC only vents.

We had it installed 3 years ago. If I remember correctly, it is 14 Seer, 3 ton unit. Our house is about 1850 sq. ft. We used the existing ductwork (we have forced air heat) and it works beautifully. The ducts are low on the wall (about 6-12 inches up off the floor).

I am being quoted a $2000 difference between the 13 and 16 seer...is that about right?

Yup, that sounds about right with the quotes I was receiving in March.

Check LIPA as well - they offer rebates providing the company is part of their team.

We just had CAC installed. We have 2 16-Seer units installed. Upstairs, we have ceiling vents and on the main floor, they come up through the floor.

FM me with any questions....my installation finished last week.

Go for the highest you can afford upfront, higher = less to operate in long run.

I have 21 units, 4 zone with forced air
