The chemical issue wouldn't bother me but not being able to get it done again for 8/9 months (if I got a BFP) would!
If you think you can hold out to get it done a 2nd time until after you have the baby, then I would go for it.

During my 2ww I lived my life as I always would have and did not mind "F" everything I did. I agree with the other poster that if you do get it done, be prepared to not be able to do it again for 9 months if you get a BFP
Good luck

I agree with others. I'd be okay with getting it done during 2ww, but the grow out process might be annoying. Would you consider Keratin (formaldehyde-free)? It doesn't straighten, but rather smoothes hair. So you'll still have your curls, but getting it straight is a whole lot easier. And it washes out after 3-5 months--doesn't grow out like other straightening treatments, so you won't have that curly growth at the roots.
Just a thought. Sorry if this sounds like a pitch, I work in the beauty industry.

It won't make your hair pin straight like Japanese straightening. It makes your hair smoother and softer, so it's much easier to get straight--you won't need to blow dry and flat iron (from what I hear from friends--I have straight hair. In fact, could use some curl! ). It'll basically make it much more manageable and frizz-free. The biggest thing is making sure the version the salon offers is formaldehyde-free.

I'd do it! I am planning on getting my highlights done next week which is right around "o" time or my 2ww.
