Re: a woman in my office

I am married for almost 12 years.

I must be cynical and jaded.

But my first reaction was...what did he do wrong that he feels he must repent?

Married for 3 years too and that was my first thought also.

I almost NEVER get flowers. Not even birthdays or holidays.

We had a big fight recently and he actually called me to ask if bringing home some flowers would help. I told him that they would help me with having something to throw at him lol.Chat Icon

I can't remember the last time DH got me flowers "just because"
probably b4 we got married Chat Icon Chat Icon

I love the... "oh, I passed a florist today and thought of you"
Uh, yeah... how many times can you use "it's the thought that counts" Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Next time stop in.

There is a florist in my town that has a sign in the window... "Your wife called.... bring some flowers home" or something to that effectChat Icon

And Blu-ize, are they the Shop Rite roses?Chat Icon
In my solidly single days, I'd buy them for myselfChat Icon but I never brought them into work.

Last week I was listening to Howard and heard Kathy Griffin. I thought, "I have to pick up that book". Well, DH must have read my mind, literally, because he bought me a copy that afternoonChat Icon Chat Icon

Yes, the shop rite roses. They are great for $7!..I expected a little fancier though for my b-day. He got the roses along with the chicken that I had to cook.Chat Icon

awww so sweet! most guys aren't that smart...even if women say they don't want flowers, we always do (unless there is an allergy or something).

While I hope that woman has it all, you never know whats behind closed doors.

I had a friend whose husband brought her flowers every Friday night. I thought it was so sweet and chided DH for not doing the same.

Turns out he was gay- they never had sex- and he wasn't such a nice person. They got divorced and he gave her HELLLL to the point where she paid him just to get out of the marriage.

So while the gestures are nice, if they aren't followed up with a good relationship- its really just meaningless.

Awww...

I thought of this thread yesterday because DH brought me flowers out of the blue. He said he saw them at the supermarket and knew I'd love the autumn colors. Chat Icon
