a "yummy" salad?
anyone have ideas for a yummy salad (preferably greens) that is also healthy, to serve with hot dogs and hamburgers?

I use boston bibb lettuce and squeeze juice of one lemon and one orange over it...drizzle with olive oil and add craisins and walnuts...

Steam 1 pound green beans
Mix: 1/4 cup sugar (I use a scant 1/4 cup)
1/4 cup vinegar (I use white or white wine)
1/4 cup oil (canola)
1 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
1 1/2 tsp oregano
pour over green beans and allow to marinate at least 2 hours. serve cold or at room temperature.

I usually make a big garden salad for the week and I LOVE it:
head of lettuce
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 cucumber
1/2 onion
1 can small olives
I usually put Balasmic Vingerette on it.

I make this one a lot and its always a hit
-romaine lettuce
-can of mandarin oranges (drained)
-crumbled goat cheese
-pecans (can be plain or candied...to candy them just heat them up in a frying pan with a teaspoon or two of water and some sugar)
Serve with balsamic vinegar dressing

Craisins
Nuts of your choice
Feta or Bleu Cheese
Serve with either red wine vinegarette or Balsamic
I also gotta have fresh cracked pepper + fresh cracked salt.

Mine is similar - love boston bibb lettuce with goat cheese, dried cranberries and sliced almonds.

Romaine Lettuce
Red onions
Cucumbers
Craisins
Feta cheese
Black or Kalmata olives
Sunflower seeds, almonds or walnuts
I really only like Trader Joes Balsamic vinaigrette dressing or I make my own (oil, red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper)

mozzarella balls or cut up mozz cheese
raspberry vinagrette

Baby spinach, canned mandarin oranges, and pecans OR baby spinach with sliced strawberries and walnuts. Both yummy with a little raspberry walnut vinaigrette

Kale with creamy avocado dressing!
Kale is so GOOD and you can mix in anything you want-maybe some tomatoes and sunflower seeds? sweeet with raisins and walnuts?
