Abnormal pap smears after birth?
I had a pap smear done 4 weeks after I gave birth and it came back "abnormal". It said "Atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance". However, I tested negative for HPV, so the pap is considered negative. The nurse told me that this means I have inflammation, not cancer. I am going to see the doc in a week to discuss the results further, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with abnormal pap smears. Could this be related to giving birth?
TIA

Re: Abnormal pap smears after birth?
I haven't gone for my annual yet since giving birth, but this happened to me a few years back. I had it taken again and everything came back normal. Doc said that there might have been traces of blood in the sample (my period was a few days before). Everything was totally fine.
