About how much do you think it would cost to build a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house...nice but nothing spectacular...with a full basement... COST OF PROPERTY NOT INCLUDED...just the cost to build the house

I think a going rate these days is about $100 a sq foot....I'm sure you can find contractors charging less or more...

Re: ?? about building a home...

I have been looking in Florida to have a house built. To have a house built (without land) and it was anywhere from 189-350,000 (depending on size what you get pool) Im sure that it would be a little more since this is Long Island (Chat Icon)

I did a search on Homebuilder here is a builder on the island with different styles. They start at 4 bedrooms though.

Do you have plans? You really have to sit down and figure out what the square footage will be. You also have to take other things into consideration - what kind of material to use, window types, etc. You can save (or spend) a lot of money based on these decisions. I had a 2500 sq foot house built in late '03 (by a builder in a new development), so I'm familiar with some of these decisions.
