? about IVF or IUI with elevated FSH
background: Me - age 29, elevated FSH at 12.7 DH - age 29
I spoke with my RE and she suggested that I go straight into IVF. I asked her about options of just BD, IUI, medicated IUI and IVF and she said that odds are against us with just BD. She said she could try Clomid or medicated IUI but the best option is IVF. I know that IVF cost a lot more than IUI but at this point i'm willing to spend the money to give myself a shot at becoming pregnant. I just don't want to spend more money than I have to if medicated or non-medicated IUI can also get me there. So, my question is: Any of you girls have elevated FSH had any success with getting pregnant with medicated IUI? If so, can you answer the questions below? How many rounds of medicated IUI? What was your FSH level to begin with? What's your age? Did you take Wheatgrass pills/shot? if so, how long? Did you do acupuncture? If so, how long?
Sorry for so many questions! I'm just trying to understand this process a little bit better. Thanks for your feedback.

Re: ? about IVF or IUI with elevated FSH
I'm 33 with an FSH of 9.8.
my protocol was medicated IUI's, then IVF after 3 failed attempts.
Round one I was put on 175 units of gonal-f injectables (which I don't think is that high). I responeded so well that they lowered my dosage a couple days in. By CD 12 I had 4 mature follies so I had my IUI. I usually don't ovulate on my own until CD 16 or 17.
I would say try a round of injectables and see if you respond. You can always convert to IVF from an IUI.

Re: ? about IVF or IUI with elevated FSH
I got PG on a medicated IUI and at one point my FSH was just over 10 (the cycle I got PG it was 9). Don't give up hope!
